CDAC-Industry-Academia Knowledge Partnership

Probing the need of skilled manpower in advanced domains of IT, the Department of Information Technology (DIT) has initiated a new programme on “Manpower Development for the Software Export Industry”. One of the major objectives of this programme is designed for updating the skills of engineering faculties in advanced domains of Information Technology. Grounded on the needs analyzed from the industry, Embedded Software, System Software and Application Software were identified as the key areas of focus in IT.

Based on forte in the identified areas, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a Scientific Society of DIT, was given the responsibility of conducting Faculty Updation Programme for Engineering Faculties. The programme is focused to impart advanced training to the in-service faculty members of Engineering Colleges and Universities all over India and would span for duration of two years (2008-10). The programme is designed for faculties to keep abreast with rapidly growing trends in Embedded Software, System Software and Application Software. Such programme can stimulate the faculties to act as catalyst between industry and academia, who in turn mould young engineering graduates to enhance their skills in these relevant areas matching the industry requirements. Moreover, as part of this programme, a dedicated team of R&D experts and Industrial Professionals working in aforesaid areas would be imparting their knowledge and experiences. The details of these three courses including the syllabus and pre-requisites are enclosed here-with for your kind reference.

We would be glad if your organization is keen in collaborating with C-DAC and work together in achieving this desired goal of national significance. If interested kindly fill-up the EOI form so that we can get in touch with you and propagate your contributions to Academia.
